Urad Dal (skinned black gram lentils): 1 cup
Cooked Plain Rice: \u00bd cup
Methi Seeds (Fenugreek Seeds): 1 Spoon
Salt: As per taste
Water for soaking<\/p>\nMETHOD OF PREPARATION :<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
In a bowl, soak the Datar Rava Idli in sufficient water. In another bowl, soak the urad dal and methi for 5 hours. Drain the water from the soaked urad dal in a pan and keep it aside for further use. Drain the water from the Rava Idli as well and discard. Now, grind Datar Rava Idli, urad dal, methi seeds, cooked rice and strained water from urad dal until it becomes a smooth batter. Pour it in a bowl, add salt as per taste, mix well and let it ferment. After 8 hours, the batter will rise.<\/p>\n
Grease the idli moulds with oil. Pour the batter in the moulds and steam it. After 12 minutes, the idlis will be ready. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.<\/p>\n
On a hot dosa pan, put 2 drops of oil and spread it well on pan. Pour a small cup of batter and spread it across the dosa pan. Serve hot dosa with coconut chutney and sambar.<\/p>\n
