Indulge in traditional Bengali fish curry with Datar’s Bengali Fish Curry Spice Mix.

INGREDIENTS :

Datar Bengali Fish Curry Spice Mix: 2 tablespoons (15 grams)
Cleaned Pomfret Fish Slices: 500 grams
Chopped onion: 2 (100 grams)
Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon (15 grams)
Tomato: 3 (250 grams)
Mustard oil: 6 tablespoons (30 ml)
Datar Salt: as per taste
Lime Juice: 1 tablespoon
Datar Turmeric powder: 1 tablespoon

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

  • Rub the fish pieces with some lime juice.
  • Add a pinch of Datar Salt and Datar Turmeric Powder. Keep aside for 10 minutes. Grind the tomatoes in a mixer and keep it aside.
  • Apply 2 tablespoons of Datar Bengali Fish Curry Spice Mix on the fish and keep it for 30 minutes.
  • Heat 6 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan, fry the chopped onion and garlic paste on a medium flame till it is golden brown and aromatic.
  • Add the fish and fry for 1 minute. Add tomato paste and fry for another 2 to 3 minutes. Add 400ml of water, Datar Salt as per taste and stir gently.
  • Cover and cook on a low flame for 5 to 8 minutes. Serve Datar Bengali Fish Curry with steamed rice.
