Datar Prawns Curry Spice Mix: 3 Tablespoons (20 grams)Cleaned Prawns: 300 gramsChopped Onion: 2 Numbers Small (120 grams)Cooking Oil: 8 Tablespoons (40 ml)Datar Salt: as per tasteGrated Fresh Coconut: 2 large coconut (600 grams)ORCoconut Milk Powder: 10 Tablespoons (70 grams)
Cooking Steps
Boil 800ml of water. Remove it from the gas and add 600grams of grated coconut. Keep aside for 15 minutes.Pass the solution through a sieve, and keep the coconut milk aside.You can also make coconut milk by adding 70 grams of coconut milk powder to 750 ml of warm water.Heat the oil till it is hot and then fry the chopped onion on a medium flame till they are golden brown.Add prawns and fry it for 1 minute.Add 3 tablespoons of Datar Prawns Curry Spice Mix and fry for 10 seconds. Add coconut milk andDatar salt as per taste.Cook it on a low flame for 8 to 10 minutes.Serve the Datar Prawns curry with chapatis or steamed white rice.
